Kuwait to announce qualified real estate developers in coming weeks, says minister

Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Eng. Abdul Latif Al-Mishari has announced that the first phase of Kuwait’s real estate developer program witnessed strong participation from the private sector across the three investment opportunities offered, with developer qualification results expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Speaking at the opening of the Second Kuwait Forum for State Development Projects (ENCON5), Al-Mishari said the housing sector remains a top national priority, receiving close attention and support from the country’s leadership.

He stressed that the housing file is being closely followed at the highest levels of state, under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

Al-Mishari said future housing challenges require more flexible and efficient development models that draw on global expertise while preserving the social and cultural fabric of Kuwaiti society and the needs of Kuwaiti families.

He noted that the real estate developer program is a key pillar in advancing the housing sector and a major driver of sustainable housing development, adding that its role extends beyond building housing units to creating integrated urban communities that meet citizens’ aspirations.

The minister emphasised that the government views the private sector as a genuine development partner rather than merely a project executor, saying this approach enhances efficiency, improves quality, and accelerates delivery of housing and infrastructure projects.

He concluded by thanking the Kuwaiti Union of Engineering Offices and Consulting Firms, participating entities, sponsors, and supporters of the forum, expressing hope that its outcomes would strengthen Kuwait’s development path and improve quality of life through more sustainable urban growth.
