US congratulates Kuwait on the occasion of National & Liberation days
On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate Amir Sheikh Meshal al-Ahmad al-Jaber Al Sabah and the Kuwaiti people on the occasion of Kuwait’s National Day and Liberation Day.
These two days mark pivotal moments in Kuwait’s history, celebrating the founding of the modern Kuwaiti state and commemorating the 33rd anniversary of Kuwait’s liberation.
More than three decades ago, Kuwaiti, U.S., and Coalition forces drove out Saddam Hussein’s army from Kuwait, forging a bond that has only grown stronger. We honor those who fought, suffered, and died for the freedom the Kuwaiti people enjoy today.
The United States is proud to have led the coalition of nations that came to Kuwait’s aid.
Today, our defense partnership — the legacy of 1991 — has evolved to deliver training and capabilities that strengthen Kuwait’s Armed Forces and contribute to regional security.
As we celebrate the 63rd anniversary of Kuwait’s independence, the United States is proud of our excellent bilateral relations bound by our mutual security and peacekeeping values.
We deeply cherish the enduring friendship between our nations that includes commercial, educational, and cultural ties.
As the U.S. Ambassador to Kuwait, I look forward to seeing the vibrant celebrations of Kuwait’s history and culture during the month of February.
Flags adorn every home, and the visible pride of Kuwaiti citizens mirrors the spirit of America during our Fourth of July festivities.
During my time in Kuwait, I will continue to explore the country, and deepen my understanding of its rich cultural tapestry, fostering even stronger and deeper ties between our countries.
