Jazeera Airways launches inaugural direct flight from Kuwait to Milan Bergamo
New route strengthens connectivity between Kuwait and Northern Italy

Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s leading low-cost carrier, has launched its inaugural direct service between Kuwait and Milan Bergamo Airport, marking the airline’s first-ever route to Italy and the addition of a new European destination to its growing network.
The maiden flight departed from Jazeera Terminal 5 (T5) at Kuwait International Airport in the presence of Italian Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Lorenzo Morini, who attended the launch ceremony to mark the occasion.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Morini described the new route as an important milestone in strengthening ties between the two friendly nations.

“This new connection creates an important bridge between Italy and Kuwait, helping to deepen economic, cultural, and tourism ties between our countries,” he said, adding that the route would encourage greater travel in both directions, allowing Italian visitors to discover Kuwait while offering Kuwaiti travelers easier access to northeastern Italy, a region rich in history, culture, and attractions.
The new service will operate three times weekly — Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays — offering travelers increased flexibility for business trips, short getaways, and extended holidays.
Barathan Pasupathi, Chief Executive Officer of Jazeera Airways, said the launch represents another significant step in the airline’s strategic expansion across Europe.
“The introduction of direct flights to Milan Bergamo reflects growing demand for stronger connectivity between Kuwait and Europe,” he said. “Italy remains a highly attractive destination for both leisure and business travelers, and Bergamo serves as an important gateway for our continued European expansion.”
He added that the new route reinforces Jazeera Airways’ commitment to enhancing Kuwait’s international connectivity while supporting tourism, travel, and economic cooperation between the two countries.
The addition of Milan Bergamo comes as Jazeera Airways continues to strengthen and expand its route network following recent regional operational disruptions. The airline currently operates flights to more than 34 destinations across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, Africa, and Europe.
