The Kuwait Oil Company has commenced operations at its latest Jurassic production stations, JPF 4 and JPF 5, located in northern Kuwait. These stations are set to contribute 320 million cubic feet per day of associated gas and 100 thousand barrels per day of light oil, effectively increasing production capacity by approximately 50% from the current 630 million cubic feet to an anticipated 950 million cubic feet in the near future.
The company emphasized the utilization of cutting-edge technologies in gas desalination and sulfur extraction units to streamline the acid gas treatment process. Despite facing challenges such as the Ukrainian-Russian war, rising material prices, shipping costs, and pandemic-related disruptions, Kuwait Oil Company successfully completed construction on schedule without significant incidents or changes to the contract, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Recently, CEO Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, along with board members, visited the Jurassic 4 and 5 production projects.
The delegation, greeted by Kuwait Oil Company CEO Ahmed Jaber Al-Eidan, received updates on the project’s progress and preparations for its official launch.
Acknowledging the project’s significance, the visiting delegation commended the dedication of the workers and their contributions to Kuwait’s oil sector, essential to the country’s 2040 strategy. CEO Sheikh Nawaf expressed pride in the workforce’s resilience and thanked them for their commitment amid external challenges.
CEO Al-Eidan attributed the project’s success to the unwavering support of Kuwait Oil Company’s employees and senior management. He highlighted the economic benefits of the projects, including market expansion for Kuwaiti light oil and the creation of job opportunities for Kuwaiti youth.
Emphasizing the pivotal role of Kuwaiti talent, Kuwait Oil Company stressed their involvement from initial field studies to project operation, underscoring their essential contribution to the project’s lifecycle.
