FIMA delegation meets with Indian Ambassador

A delegation from the Federation of Indian Muslim Associations (FIMA) met with the new Ambassador of India to Kuwait, H.E. Paramita Tripathi, at the Indian Embassy on January 11, 2026.
The FIMA delegation comprised Israr Ahmed, Vice President; Siddeeque Valiyakath, Secretary General; Dr Hidayathulla, EC Member and Basheer Batha, Treasurer.
During the meeting, several key issues affecting the Indian community in Kuwait were discussed, including delays in Civil ID processing; difficulties in updating residential addresses on Civil IDs; challenges regarding medical fitness procedures in India, including delays and lack of clarity in rules and policies.
This is in addition to the need for smoother and simpler procedures for newcomers to Kuwait; delays in salary payments to domestic workers by employers.
Ambassador emphasized the importance of raising awareness through all available channels, including social media, about local and Indian rules and regulations.
She highlighted the necessity of complying with Indian and Kuwaiti laws to prevent legal issues, particularly concerning illegal activities and the use of illegal visas to enter Kuwait.
The Ambassador also stressed the value of pre-arrival registration with the Embassy for all community members.
The Ambassador showed attentive interest in understanding and addressing the challenges faced by the community.
She encouraged FIMA to continue informing the Embassy about community-related issues through its member associations and to help ensure the effective dissemination of Embassy circulars and updates.
The meeting was fruitful, informative, and encouraging, providing positive hope for effective solutions in the future.
