KOC awards $677m contracts to strengthen upstream oil and gas operations

Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has awarded a series of contracts worth 208 million dinars ($676.8 million) to leading international oilfield services firms as part of its ongoing drive to enhance upstream oil and gas operations and boost production efficiency.

The contracts were signed with Western Atlas International, Halliburton Overseas, China National Logging Corporation and Weatherford, covering specialized logging and perforation services across Kuwait’s oil fields, according to northstar-telecom.net

Western Atlas International secured a 56.34 million dinars contract, while Halliburton Overseas was awarded 46.12 million dinars. China National Logging Corporation clinched a 50.09 million dinars deal, and Weatherford received contracts worth 55.5 million dinars, KOC said in a statement.

The scope of work includes advanced logging and perforation services, which are critical for reservoir evaluation, well completion and optimizing hydrocarbon recovery.

These services play a key role in determining the characteristics of underground formations, improving well productivity and maximizing output from existing and new wells.

KOC said the contract awards reflect its strategy to collaborate with leading global service providers to support sustainable production growth and operational excellence across Kuwait’s oil fields.

The move also underscores KOC’s continued investment in advanced oilfield services, modern technologies and production efficiency as it works to enhance recovery rates, extend the life of mature fields and support the country’s long-term energy strategy.

The contracts come as Kuwait accelerates major upstream projects aimed at increasing production capacity, improving efficiency and maintaining its position as a key global energy producer.
