19 million dinars contract signed to develop Al-Surra infrastructure

The Ministry of Public Works has signed a 19 million dinars contract with the winning company for the maintenance and development project in the Al-Surra area, adding it to similar infrastructure upgrade projects currently underway in Qortuba and Al-Yarmouk.
Informed sources at the ministry said the Al-Surra project falls within a comprehensive plan to upgrade infrastructure across various regions of the country.
The sources noted that the ministry is in the process of preparing designs for development projects in several residential and administrative areas, including Shuwaikh (residential and administrative), Faiha, Nuzha and Abdullah Al-Salem suburb, in preparation for tendering these projects in the coming period, reports Al-Rai daily.
The sources added that Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan is closely overseeing plans to maintain and modernize infrastructure in many parts of Kuwait, with the goal of improving service efficiency and enhancing residents’ quality of life.
The sources explained that the ministry is also developing infrastructure designs for all areas of Al-Jahra Governorate, as well as selected areas in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate and other regions, as part of broader efforts to modernize infrastructure facilities nationwide.
The scope of work includes the implementation and maintenance of sewage and rainwater drainage networks, street lighting systems, and the rehabilitation of roads and streets, in line with approved Ministry of Public Works specifications and standards.
The sources emphasized that these projects form part of the ministry’s strategic plan to promote sustainable infrastructure and keep pace with urban expansion and population growth, with implementation based on set timelines, strict technical standards, and continuous field monitoring to ensure quality and minimize disruption to traffic and residents.
