Kuwait issues three decrees to revoke citizenship of 14 people

Kuwait Alyawm, the government gazette has published the names of 14 individuals whose Kuwaiti citizenship has been revoked under three separate decrees issued in 2025.

The decisions also apply to those who may have obtained citizenship through dependency.

According to the publication, Decree No. 218 of 2025 strips 12 individuals of their Kuwaiti nationality, extending the measure to anyone who acquired citizenship with them on a dependent basis.

Decree No. 219 of 2025 revokes the citizenship of one woman, in addition to any dependents linked to her naturalization.

A third, Decree No. 221 of 2025, withdraws the nationality of another individual, also extending to those who may have received citizenship through dependency.

These decisions were officially published in the latest issue of the government gazette. No additional details were provided regarding the reasons behind the revocations, reports Al-Rai daily.
