Kuwait implements electronic working hours regulations for private sector

The Public Authority for Manpower has officially implemented Resolution No. 15 of 2025, regulating working hours in the private sector, starting November 1, 2025.

The resolution, published in the Official Gazette on September 14, is part of the Authority’s efforts to enhance transparency and modernize oversight of the labor market through electronic management of working hours and holidays.

Under the new system, employers are required to enter all data on daily working hours, rest periods, weekly days off, and official holidays into the Authority’s electronic platform, updating it promptly whenever changes occur, reports Al-Rai daily.

The recorded data serves as the official reference for inspections and enforcement, and employers must print and display the regulations at their workplaces for easy access by employees and inspectors.

The electronic regulations now replace the previous paper-based system. Failure to comply with the new requirements may result in penalties, including partial or complete suspension of the employer’s file, in accordance with Law No. 6 of 2010 concerning private sector labor.

The Authority urged all employers to update their records immediately to ensure compliance and maintain a lawful and transparent work environment.
