Kuwaiti sentenced to death for kidnapping and assaulting child in Hawally

The Criminal Court, headed by Counselor Nasser Al-Badr and comprising Judges Abdulaziz Al-Muadhadi and Abdulhadi Al-Hajri, has sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen to death for kidnapping a 9-year-old child and assaulting him inside his apartment in Maidan Hawally on the first day of Eid Al-Fitr, and leaving the child naked on the street.
The court had reserved the case for ruling following a compelling plea by lawyer Alaa Al-Saeedi, the victim’s legal representative, who called for the application of the maximum penalties stipulated in Article (180) of the Penal Code, which prescribes the death penalty for anyone who kidnaps a person using force, threat, or deception — particularly when the victim is a child.
According to case details, the victim was abducted while on his way to perform Eid prayers, highlighting the gravity and cruelty of the crime.
