Partial opening of Damascus Street towards South Surra announced
The Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport (PART), in coordination with the General Traffic Department, announced the opening of Damascus Street from the Fifth Ring Road in the direction of South Surra, extending to Ibrahim Al-Muzain Street in Al-Zahraa.
The opening includes full access to the intersections of Damascus Street with Abdullah Al-Hamidi Street and Ali Al-Asousi Street, allowing traffic to flow from the Fifth Ring Road (for those coming from Salmiya) to Damascus Street, and from Damascus Street back to the Fifth Ring Road in the direction of Salmiya, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Additionally, the Surra exit opposite the Fifth Ring Road will be open for motorists heading to Damascus Street toward South Surra.
The new traffic arrangements will take effect at midnight on Sunday–Monday, October 20, 2025.
