Expat arrested for attempting to smuggle alcohol

The Customs officers at the Nuwaiseeb port have arrested an unidentified person and handed him over to the General Department of Drugs and Alcohol Control (GDDAC) for attempting to smuggle two bottles of alcohol.

The Al-Anba daily quoting security sources said the booze bottles were hidden under the passenger seat of the car.

The suspect arrived at the land port from an unidentified Gulf country.
