CMA grants Goldman Sachs three-year license to operate in Kuwait

The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) has approved a license for Goldman Sachs International to conduct securities activities in Kuwait, authorizing it to operate as an investment advisor and as a subscription agent.

The license is valid for a three-year period from the date of issuance of the license certificate by the CMA. The approval follows the payment of the required fee, as stipulated by the Authority.

The CMA emphasized that Goldman Sachs International must pay the prescribed fee for any future renewal of the license, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 7 of 2010, its executive regulations, subsequent amendments, and the Authority’s relevant decisions and instructions.

This step reflects Kuwait’s continued efforts to strengthen its financial markets by allowing established international financial institutions to operate under regulated conditions, thereby enhancing investment opportunities and market expertise in the country.
