Kuwait withdraws citizenship from eight people

The Council of Ministers has issued a decision to revoke the citizenship certificates of eight people, along with the citizenship of those who obtained it through affiliation with them.

The decision is based on Article 21 (Repeated A) of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959 concerning the Kuwaiti Nationality Law and its subsequent amendments, reports Al-Rai daily.

The cited article stipulates that, “Kuwaiti nationality shall be withdrawn if it is proven that it was obtained unlawfully, through fraud, false statements, or the use of incorrect documents.”
