Trump predicts hostages from Gaza will return ‘home’ on Monday

This is more than just peace in Gaza. It is peace in the Middle East -- US President Donald Trump

US President Donald Trump stated in a television interview that he believes the hostages held in Gaza “will be returned to Israel on Monday” following the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

“I think the hostages will be returned on Monday, and that will include the bodies of the dead,” Trump told Fox News on Wednesday, Washington time.

The US President expressed optimism about the broader impact of the agreement, saying, “We believe that the Gaza Strip will be a much safer place, and it will be rebuilt, and other countries in the region will help it rebuild because they have enormous wealth and want that to happen. We [the United States] will be a part of that, helping them succeed and helping to maintain peace there.”

Trump also suggested that Iran could be involved in the broader peace process, emphasizing, “This is more than just peace in Gaza. It is peace in the Middle East.”

Expressing satisfaction with the international response, he said, “The entire world has rallied behind this agreement. Many countries you wouldn’t have imagined did everything necessary.”

He concluded by highlighting the agreement’s significance for all parties involved: “This is a very good thing for Israel, for Muslims, for Arab countries, and for the United States.”
