A major fire broke out late last night at an oil refinery in Los Angeles County, California, sparking a swift response from firefighters and police after multiple reports of an explosion, according to US media media.
The refinery, located at 324 West El Segundo Street, deployed its own fire department to battle the blaze. Crews have so far succeeded in containing the flames and preventing them from spreading to other parts of the facility.
The El Segundo Police Department confirmed that no injuries have been reported and no immediate evacuations were ordered.
Authorities said the cause of the fire and the exact time of its outbreak remain under investigation.
