MC okays shaded walkways in Mubarakiya reconstruction, relocates Al-Omariya Zoo site

The Municipal Council, chaired by Abdullah Al-Mahri, has approved a request submitted by the Kuwait Municipality’s Projects Sector to install shaded and air-conditioned walkways as part of the reconstruction of the area damaged by the fire in Qibla, Block 7.

In the same session, the Council also endorsed the Ministry of Finance’s request to amend its earlier decision (MBRO/2024/2/40 D3) of July 8, 2024, concerning the location of the Al-Omariya Zoo.

Under the amendment, the zoo will now be established on state-owned property rather than public treasury land, to help address the actuarial deficit of social insurance.
