KISR highlights marine research capabilities on World Maritime Day

The Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing marine safety, coastal protection, and navigation technologies in support of a safer and more sustainable future.
On the occasion of World Maritime Day, Dr. Turki Al-Saeed, Director of the Coastal and Marine Resources Program at KISR, said the program has demonstrated strong research capabilities in deep-sea exploration and seafloor mapping using state-of-the-art technologies, reports Al-Rai daily.
He noted that the program also applies advanced expertise in mathematical modeling and the preparation of wind atlases.
These tools, he explained, play a vital role in enhancing navigation safety, protecting Kuwait’s coastal zones, and promoting the sustainable use of marine resources.
Dr. Al-Saeed stressed that these efforts reflect KISR’s long-standing mission to support national priorities in environmental protection and marine development, while keeping pace with international standards in maritime research and innovation.
