HH the Amir sends written message to Chinese President, emphasizing strengthened bilateral ties

Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah, CEO and Deputy Chairman of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and envoy of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, met with Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing to deliver a written message from His Highness to the Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The message highlighted the importance of reinforcing Kuwait-China relations and reaffirmed the political leadership’s commitment to enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors, reflecting the strength of historical ties between the two friendly nations.

During the meeting, the officials discussed avenues to further develop bilateral relations and exchang views on key issues of mutual interest.

Sheikh Nawaf also mentioned his presence at the closing ceremony of the acquisition deal between Kuwait’s Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC) and China’s Wanhua Chemical Group in Yantai, Shandong Province.

Under this landmark agreement, Wanhua will acquire a 25 percent stake in the group, marking Kuwait’s largest investment in the Chinese oil sector.

Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin praised the depth of Kuwait-China relations and expressed his hope that His Highness the Amir will attend the second Arab-Chinese Summit scheduled in China in 2026.

He conveyed his appreciation for the message, which he pledged to deliver to President Xi.

Sheikh Nawaf was accompanied by Kuwaiti Ambassador to China H.E. Jassim Ibrahim Al-Najem, along with Advisors Abdulaziz Khaled Al-Dakhil and Faisal Ahmed Al-Mawed.
