MOI busts drug-running armed gang; vows no mercy

The General Department for Combating Narcotics, has taken into custody three bedoun who were caught red-handed in possession of narcotics and a deadly arsenal of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
The Ministry confirmed that the arrest of a ruthless, armed criminal gang is part of relentless efforts to annihilate drug trafficking and distribution networks that poison society and threaten national security.
The arrest came after the security authorities worked on a tip-off that the gang was operating a clandestine drug warehouse in the Salmi desert, which was used as a store to distribute narcotics, reports Al-Rai daily.
The plainclothes men have seized approximately 4 kilograms of hashish, 100 grams of marijuana, 1 kilogram of Lyrica powder, and a staggering 25,000 capsules and tablets of psychotropic substances. They also seized three electronic precision scales, two assault rifles (Kalashnikovs), six pistols, and an arsenal of ammunition.
The Ministry declared that all suspects and seized contraband have been handed over to competent authorities for legal action. The campaign against drug-related crime remains vigorous and unwavering, aimed at eradicating these poisoners who jeopardize the safety and stability of the nation.
