MCI shuts down 13 shops, seizes over 10,000 counterfeit items

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry today carried out extensive campaigns around the country which ultimately resulted in the seizure of over 10,000 counterfeit items and the closure of 13 shops for violating commercial regulations.

In a statement posted on X account, the Ministry said its emergency inspection teams are continuing monitoring campaigns across all governorates, reports Al-Jarida daily.

The recent field operation targeted stores suspected of selling fake products, resulting in the confiscation of thousands of counterfeit items and the closure of numerous non-compliant shops.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to protecting consumers and combating commercial fraud through ongoing inspections and legal enforcement.
