24,000 traffic citations were issued last week
Under the field supervision of Major General Yousef Al Khadda, the Director General of the General Traffic Department, traffic police issued over 24,000 various traffic violations during the past week.
During the campaign several juveniles were taken into custody after they were caught driving the vehicles of their relatives without a driving license, reports Al-Rai daily.
This is in addition to impounding vehicles and motorbikes for committing serious violations. The vehicles have been towed to the Interior Ministry garage.
A security source emphasized that the traffic campaigns aim to enforce traffic laws, ensuring the safety of road users and promoting adherence to regulations.
The source highlighted a specific campaign in the Jaber Al-Ahmad area, resulting in the arrest of four people in possession of narcotic substances.
