Sheikh Fahad leads critical mission to Damascus, urges forgers to confess or else . . .

Four-hour meeting in Damascus uncovers over 200 suspect cases

In a significant breakthrough, the Kuwaiti authorities are moving swiftly to expose and strip Syrian nationals who obtained the Kuwaiti citizenship through forgery, following high-level coordination with the Syrian officials.

Sources told Al-Rai daily that the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, led a critical mission that began with a visit to Beirut and culminated in a four-hour meeting in Damascus.

During the discussions, files and documents were exchanged and verified in a cooperative effort aimed at uncovering the truth behind the forged identities.

According to the sources, it has become symbolic of the growing crackdown on those who unlawfully claimed to be Kuwaiti citizens.

The Supreme Nationality Investigation Committee is preparing to convene a session to review evidence involving over 200 suspected cases, marking what could be a turning point in restoring the integrity of the national registry.

The sources emphasized that the cooperation between Syrian and Kuwaiti authorities was both fruitful and productive, and the exchange of evidence has illuminated several clear instances of fraud.
With Kuwaiti records now being cross-referenced against Syrian registries, authorities expect that “the fog of forgery will clear and the sun of truth will shine.”

In a direct message to those who obtained citizenship through deceit, the sources urged them to come forward voluntarily, confess, and seek to rectify their status.

Doing so, they said, could mitigate legal and financial consequences, the sources declared, underscoring that withdrawal of citizenship is inevitable for those who do not take the initiative to cooperate.

“No one who forges citizenship should think they are safe,” the sources warned. “We will never allow the continued draining of Kuwait’s blood, wealth, and resources by those who do not deserve it.”
