MoSA outlines three-stage plan for automating cooperative society operations

Dr. Sayed Issa, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Financial, Administrative, and Cooperatives Affairs at the Ministry of Social Affairs, announced that the ministry is implementing a three-stage automated integration plan for cooperative societies.
Speaking during a meeting with the heads of cooperative society boards at the Federation of Cooperative Societies, Dr. Issa explained that the plan begins with automating financial, administrative, and warehouse operations, followed by camera-based monitoring, and culminating in the use of artificial intelligence to support cooperative operations, reports Al-Jarida daily.
He emphasized that automated connectivity is an essential requirement, particularly in times of crisis, as it enhances the efficiency of both cooperative boards and the ministry’s inspectors. Dr. Issa urged all societies to complete the primary phase—covering finance, administration, and warehousing — by the end of this month, as a priority.
In support of this initiative, Dr. Issa revealed that the ministry recently met with major IT companies under contract with various cooperative societies and proposed that the integration services be provided free of charge, imposing no financial burden on the cooperatives.
Addressing aesthetic initiatives by associations, he advised cooperative boards to first present their beautification or decoration proposals to the department of cooperative facilities before submitting them to the formal review committee. This, he noted, ensures that such projects are compatible with the local environment and community character.
Dr. Issa also stressed the importance of administrative efficiency, highlighting that cooperative department managers have received direct instructions to finalize society-related transactions within two working days. He warned that there will be strict accountability for any delays beyond this time frame.
These reforms aim to streamline operations, improve transparency, and strengthen the technological infrastructure of Kuwait’s cooperative sector, aligning with the ministry’s broader digital transformation goals.
