MoE has not received CSC approval to prepone summer vacation for school staff

As Grade 12 students continue their end-of-year exams — science students sitting for biology and arts students for history — the Ministry of Education has not received any official approval to prepone the summer vacation for school staff, whether teaching or administrative.

The sources clarified that school hours remain fully regulated by the Civil Service Commission, and the Ministry cannot make such decisions independently, according to Al-Jarida daily.

The sources noted that the current schedule for the end of the school year and the start of summer break remains unchanged.

Elementary schools are still conducting assessment tests for students who missed exams due to excused absences, particularly in the Grade 5. Meanwhile, second-round exams are scheduled for both middle and high school students.

Regarding the ongoing exams, Ahmed Al-Hashash, head of the exam committee at Imam Malik Boys’ Secondary School, reported that testing is proceeding in a calm and organized atmosphere. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the Ministry of Education’s guidelines, regulations, and systems.

Al-Hashash stated that there are 15 examination committees and one special committee at the school. The number of students taking exams in the science stream stands at 139, while the literature stream includes 49 students.
An additional 79 students from the evening system at Khaled Saud Al-Zaid Secondary School are also participating.

Al-Hashash praised the Ministry’s efforts to uphold integrity and transparency during the final exam period, particularly through the appointment of a “National Supervisor” who is tasked with daily oversight.

This supervisor monitors committee activities, ensures full compliance with official procedures, and contributes to ensuring justice and equal opportunity for all students.
