Court of Appeal upholds 3-year sentence for Egyptian student over insulting Kuwait

The Court of Appeal has upheld the verdict of the Court of First Instance and sentenced an Egyptian student enrolled in a business school to three years in prison with hard labor, followed by deportation.
The student was convicted for publicly insulting Kuwait and defaming the Amir by writing offensive remarks on a classroom board.
The ruling confirms the seriousness with which Kuwaiti authorities address offenses related to national symbols and the dignity of the state leadership.
This case serves as a reminder of the strict penalties under Kuwaiti law for acts deemed offensive to the Emirate, particularly those committed in public or institutional settings.
