False alarm, real action: Kuwait Airport handles Gulf Air bomb threat with precision

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) confirmed that a bomb threat was reported on board Gulf Air flight GF213 en route to Kuwait on Sunday, June 8, 2025. The situation was promptly addressed in line with standard security procedures at Kuwait International Airport, in full coordination with the Ministry of Interior and other relevant authorities.

The aircraft landed safely, and all passengers were evacuated without incident. Security protocols were swiftly ac
ivated to ensure the safety of passengers, crew, and airport personnel, reports Al-Jarida daily.
DGCA spokesperson Abdullah Al Rajhi stated that all passengers were transferred to an isolated lounge, where they were found to be safe and in good health. He emphasized that the security inspection was ongoing to verify that the aircraft was completely clear of any threats.

Airport operations continued without disruption, and scheduled flights were not affected by the incident. The DGCA, in collaboration with security agencies, is continuing to monitor the situation closely and complete all required procedures in accordance with national aviation safety standards.
The individual responsible for the false threat has been apprehended, and legal security actions have been taken.

Al Rajhi praised the swift cooperation between all involved parties and reaffirmed the DGCA’s commitment to ensuring the highest levels of safety and security in Kuwait’s airspace and at its airports.
