Doha East Power Plant back on track after sudden malfunction
Firefighting teams responded immediately to the source of the smoke and handled the situation, with officials clarifying that no fire had broken out.

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, through its Power Plants Sector, swiftly contained a sudden malfunction in Unit 1 of the Doha East Power Plant, which led to smoke emissions.
Sources told Arabic daily Al Rai that the unit was scheduled to resume operation today, but a minor fault occurred during the startup process. They confirmed the unit remains safe and the issue will be resolved promptly to restore normal operations.
