Kuwait arrests 7 Arab beggars, set for deportation

The Ministry of Interior announced that, following the directives of Acting Prime Minister, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, and as part of ongoing security efforts to combat negative phenomena and apprehend violators and outlaws, the General Directorate of Residence Investigations conducted a security campaign that led to the arrest of seven beggars of Arab nationality. The individuals have been referred to the competent authorities for legal action.
The General Directorate of Residency Affairs Investigations affirmed its firm stance against begging and confirmed that all violators will be deported according to their residency status as follows:
- Residency Article (22) (Family Visa): The violator will be deported along with their sponsor.
- Residency Article (18) (Private Sector Work Visa): The violator will be deported, and the company’s file will be closed.
- Residency Article (20) (Domestic Workers Visa): The violator will be expelled, and the employer will be barred from issuing future guarantees or visas.
Furthermore, individuals who exploit children for begging to evoke public sympathy will face strict legal action, with a case of “exploiting a minor” registered against them.
