Empowering creativity and talent development for people with disabilities
Kuwait is championing creativity of people with disabilities, wherein at the “One Community for All Talents” exhibition, Minister Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah highlighted efforts to empower and integrate them through vocational programs, partnerships, and artistic platforms—aligning with Kuwait Vision 2035.

The Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, emphasized today, Wednesday, about the importance of nurturing the creativity of people with disabilities, providing them with opportunities to showcase and develop their talents in various artistic and craft fields. This reflects the Kuwait’s commitment to empowerment and social inclusion.
Al-Huwailah made this statement to KUNA at the launch of the “One Community for All Talents” exhibition, organized by the Public Authority for the Disabled’s Vocational Rehabilitation Department. The event which will be held at Al-Shaheed Park from February 12 to 13 will showcase participants’ artwork, handicrafts, and products.
Furthermore, Al-Huwailah emphasized that the exhibition serves as a platform to empower people with disabilities, allowing them to showcase their talents in a supportive environment that boosts self-confidence and nurtures creativity. She reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to backing such initiatives that promote community integration.
Al-Huwailah highlighted the Authority’s ongoing efforts to implement specialized rehabilitation programs in collaboration with various entities to develop creative and craft skills. She emphasized that these initiatives aim to enhance the participation of people with disabilities in artistic and cultural activities, reinforcing cross-sector integration to ensure they receive the necessary support.
Describing the exhibition as a significant step towards empowering people with disabilities, Al-Huwailah stated that it helps them reach their full potential and strengthen their role in society. She also praised the efforts of participants and organizers in creating opportunities for creativity and excellence.
The Acting Director General of the Public Authority for the Disabled, Wafaa Al-Muhanna, stated that the exhibition aligns with the Authority’s strategy to integrate people with disabilities into society. She emphasized its role in developing their skills, strengthening their impact, and raising community awareness about their rights and capabilities.
Al-Muhanna highlighted the Authority’s commitment to building community partnerships with public benefit associations and experts from the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training to enhance vocational rehabilitation services for people with disabilities. She also noted an ongoing collaboration with the Human Construction Society for Social Development, aiming to graduate a new batch of students by the end of February, and integrate them into the local labor market with support from both government and private sectors.
The UN Representative and Resident Coordinator in Kuwait, Ghada Al-Taher, emphasized to KUNA that the exhibition showcases Kuwait’s commitment to rehabilitating and empowering people with disabilities, fostering their talents, and supporting their growth through various fields, including art exhibitions.
Al-Taher highlighted that the artwork displayed in the exhibition reflects the remarkable creativity and artistic sense of people with disabilities. She credited this achievement to the dedicated support of Minister of Social Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah and the Public Authority for the Affairs of People with Disabilities, which has provided opportunities for talent development and recognition.
Moreover, Al-Taher emphasized that creative individuals with disabilities are a vital part of “New Kuwait Vision 2035” and receive strong support from relevant authorities. She expressed gratitude to those working to showcase their impactful role in society, which has enabled them to achieve remarkable progress across various fields.
