UIS holds ‘Navigating the Future’ career guidance sessions for grade X
United Indian School, Kuwait organized career guidance sessions for the students and parents of Grade X of United Indian School and United International Indian School, on December 13 and 14, 2024. Two sessions were conducted on both the days, with the school auditorium completely filled by students and parents.
Primary objective of the program was to create awareness among the students and the parents about the significance of informed decisions during a student’s educational journey and the role of such decisions in paving the way for a successful career.
The sessions were led by a renowned career counsellor and columnist Mr. Jomy P L. Mr. Jomy is the Director of Sensorium Centre for Advanced learning and IMS Thrissur.
Principal Mr. Radhakrishnan C introduced the career guide to the audience and also extended a warm welcome to the audience at the beginning of each session. His address set the tone for the sessions, highlighting the school’s commitment to prepare the students to explore and pursue careers that align with their aptitudes and aspirations.
Mr. Jomy explained about the importance of setting the proper foundation for a successful career path. He encouraged the students to develop strong communications skills and stay abreast of the rapidly evolving field of technology.
The sessions provided essential insights into the importance of informed decision-making and offered practical advice for students to shape their academic and career journeys. Parents also gained a deeper understanding of how they can be supportive partners in their children’s career exploration process. With his extensiveexperience and expertise in the field of career guidance, Mr. Jomy earned the admiration of the audience.
The guidance speeches were followed by interactive Q & A sessions, with active participation from the audience, and concluded with a closing address by the principal. These sessions benefited 600 plus tenth graders and their parents.
