Kuwait Cabinet briefed on 26th Arabian Gulf Cup preparations
The Kuwaiti Cabinet was informed on Tuesday about a visual presentation shown by Minister of Information and Culture, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi regarding ongoing preparations for the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup to be hosted by Kuwait from December 21 until January 3.
The meeting was held at Bayan Palace under the chairmanship of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shereeda Al-Mousherji said in a statement after the meeting.
Al-Mutairi, also head of the supreme committee organizing the event, affirmed that the political leadership is paying much attention to the championship.
His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah is closely following the preparations regarding making the event in a manner that lives up to Kuwait’s position, Al-Mutairi said, stressing readiness of all sports facilities for the tourney.
Meanwhile, His Highness the Prime Minister directed accelerating the submission of all projects related to developing infrastructure, residential cities and others that would help push for creating investment opportunities and jobs for Kuwaitis.
The Cabinet tasked all ministers with accelerating following all projects.
In addition, the Cabinet was briefed on a visual presentation submitted by the Ministry of Finance on the report of surveying unused buildings and land, affiliated to government bodies, to exploit them in an optimal manner to preserve public fund.
Out of its keenness on making new opportunities for young cadres to help them contribute to developing action, the Cabinet decided to assign the Civil Service Commission, in coordination with the Public Institution for Social Security, to prepare a study regarding retirement rules at government bodies. The Cabinet called for giving it, within one month from its date, a report with all measures and sides taken in this regard.
The Council considered the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) a central body concerned with geographical information systems (GIS) on the state level, asking all government agencies to cooperate with the authority and provide all data required. Furthermore, the Cabinet reviewed some topics on the agenda and approved them.
The Cabinet also endorsed the report of the Supreme Committee to Investigate the Kuwaiti Citizenship that includes the loss and withdrawal of citizenship form some persons, in accordance with the law No. 15 of 1959.
