‘Electricity Ministry’ discusses with World Bank to improve Kuwait’s business environment ranking

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy is holding a meeting today, Tuesday, December 10, with a team of experts from the World Bank to follow up on the implementation of reforms aimed at enhancing Kuwait’s ranking in the Business Environment Improvement Program.

According to sources in the Ministry, the meeting will discuss developing work and accelerating the completion of transactions to facilitate procedures for investors in Kuwait, by simplifying internal procedures and achieving the maximum degree of smoothness and ease in completing transactions without any disruption or delay.

The sources explained that the meeting will focus on reducing the time required to complete transactions, in line with the requirements from the Ministry in cooperation with the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority.

The regulatory framework and procedures related to water and electricity services in Kuwait, will also be addressed, including discussions on the reliability of electricity and water supplies and the necessary steps to connect to the service network.

The sources added that the meeting will focus on policies related to energy efficiency, aiming to enhance energy production and ensure sustainability in the future, in line with the State’s goals in promoting energy, particularly renewable energy projects.

Importantly, the sources confirmed that the meeting reflects the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with international institutions, aiming to improve the business environment in Kuwait and facilitate procedures for local and international investors.

The Ministry also seeks to achieve Kuwait’s future vision by enhancing the efficiency of the electricity and water sectors and providing an investment environment that encourages growth and development across various economic fields.
