National Council honors Gulf and Arab creativity awardees

Kuwaiti creators have excelled in theater and cinema, making a significant impact on Gulf and Arab festivals while enhancing the country’s cultural identity on the Arab and international stages.

Kuwait has seen remarkable success in the arts due to the support of its wise leadership and the talent of its intellectuals and artists, with many receiving prestigious awards in theater and film festivals that highlight their creativity and professionalism.

The honor bestowed upon Kuwaiti creators is a well-deserved acknowledgment of their continuous efforts and serves as an inspiration for future generations to continue presenting works that reflect our authentic Kuwaiti culture and rich heritage.

 

The National Council for Culture, Arts, and Literature, under the patronage of Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, hosted a ceremony to honor the winners of the Creativity Awards in festivals and participants from Kuwait in the Gulf and Arab world. This event recognized their achievements and contributions to culture and the arts, as reported by Al Rai newspaper.

In a speech during a ceremony held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Dr. Mohammed Al-Jassar, the Secretary-General of the Council, representing Minister Al-Mutairi, emphasized that the State of Kuwait has always honored symbols and creators, not only as a form of loyalty and appreciation for distinguished individuals who contribute to the movement, but also as a key pillar in the approach to stimulating creators. Kuwait has valued culture and the arts throughout its history.

He added that Kuwait has achieved remarkable success in the arts, thanks to God and the unwavering support of its intellectuals and artists from wise leadership. He noted that many artists and directors have received prestigious awards in theater and film festivals, reflecting the level of creativity and professionalism enjoyed by Kuwaiti artists.

Al-Jassar expressed pride in honoring Kuwaiti creators who have excelled in theater and cinema, leaving a significant impact on festivals in the Gulf countries and the Arab world.

He pointed out that these creators not only produced distinguished works of art but also contributed to strengthening the Kuwaiti cultural identity and promoting it on the Arab and international stage. He added that their honor is a deserved acknowledgment of their continuous efforts and an inspiration for future generations to continue presenting works that reflect our authentic Kuwaiti culture and rich heritage.

He offered heartfelt prayers and best wishes to the esteemed artists Ibrahim Al-Salal and Abdullah Al-Ruwaished for their safe return home after two successful treatment journeys, thanks to God’s grace.

The Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Literature, along with Assistant Secretary general for the Arts Sector in the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature Musaad Al-Zamil, presided over the ceremony to honor the creators in a warm and familiar atmosphere.

The ceremony’s host, Hashem Asad, announced the names of the honorees: Ahmed Al-Salman, Abdullah Al-Turkmani, Samah, Abdulaziz Behbhani, Amer Boukabir, Ahmed Al-Rashidi, writer Taghreed Al-Dawood, and director Mohammed Al-Ansari.

Also honored were artist Maitham Badr, writer and director Faisal Al-Obeid, Dr. Fahad Al-Mu’dan, writer and director Suleiman Al-Bassam, artist Hala Omran, artist Nassar Al-Nassar, artist Rasha Al-Nasrallah, writer Mohammed Al-Hutaib, and director Ahmed Al-Khudari, as well as the Kuwaiti delegation participating in the 14th Gulf Theater Festival.

Following the awards ceremony, a concert was held under the direction of Maestro Bassam Al-Balushi, along with a dinner in honor of the honorees.
