Al-Mashaan signs 400 million worth road maintenance contracts

Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of Public Works, on Wednesday, signed 18 contracts for radical maintenance projects for the country’s road network.

Al-Mashaan signed these contracts more than a full year, only after these contracts and tenders submitted by companies, were subjected to extensive study.

More importantly, these practices include infrastructure works in all areas in various governorates, in addition to highways, where maintenance works include rain networks, street lighting and telephone, in addition to roads, street and others.

Moreover, According to a statement made today by the head of the Roads Authority on the assignment, the value of the contracts amounts to 400 million dinars.

As a matter of fact, the extensive practices aim at ushering a comprehensive reform of all highways and internal streets in the six governorates, which have been suffering for years due to delays in their maintenance for various reasons.

Primarily due to non-approval of the estimates offered previously by international companies that were meant to implement those practices by the Court of Auditors.

This signing of these 18 contracts marks a significant milestone in Kuwait’s infrastructure development with improved road networks.
