Abdali Economic City construction gains momentum
The Abdali Economic Zone’s building system has entered into force, after “Kuwait Today” published the decision of the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Abdul Latif Al-Mishari, regarding the requirements and specifications for buildings in the economic zone in Abdali, after the approval of the Municipal Council.
The decision included the system of mixed investment housing buildings (residential-commercial) and the system of storage and logistics buildings. The two systems included building ratios, entrances, setbacks, and heights of buildings and floors, in addition to parking spaces.
The most prominent specifications of the buildings in “Abdali Economic City” include requirements that the total building percentage of the building in mixed investment housing plots should not exceed 250 percent of the plot area.
Furthermore, the percentage of the commercial part overlooking the main street in the center of the neighborhood should not exceed 60 percent of the plot area. Also the percentage of the residential investment part in the repeated floors should not exceed 190 percent of the plot.
More importantly, the buildings should not be used for any activity other than housing, and it is permitted to build two mezzanines, only one of which is used for commercial activity, provided that the maximum building height is 100 meters, starting from the lowest level of the ground floor slab.
