Combating human trafficking with a humanitarian approach

The Central Bank of Kuwait issues circulars to local banks to remove obstacles and facilitate opening of bank accounts by low-income groups.

The Ministry of Justice confirmed that the circular issued by the Central Bank of Kuwait to local banks, to remove obstacles in opening bank accounts for the low-income groups, which will contribute in enhancing the efforts of the Permanent National Committee for Combating Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants.

On a thankful note, The Ministry of Justice said in a statement that it’s Minister, along with the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Mohammed Al-Wasmi, and members of the committee expressed their gratitude for this historical humanitarian step.

This initiative will include those with simple service and craft jobs and domestic workers, indicating that it helps in guaranteeing the rights of these groups and protect employers, which is in accordance with the applicable laws related to work in the private sector and domestic workers.
