Strengthening Kuwait’s food security system to enhance local production

H. E. Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali, The Governor of the capital, stressed upon the government’s strategic support and encouragement in local production of food to meet all needs in Kuwait.

The Governor of the capital, Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali, stressed the keenness and directives of the political leadership to follow up the strategic plans in providing the main stock of goods, and supporting and encouraging local production of food to meet all the needs of citizens and residents.

On Monday morning, an inspection tour was conducted to the Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company, where The Governor was received by the CEO Mutlaq Al-Zayed, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Abdulhamid Tawfiqi, Director of Public Relations Bassel Al-Ali, along with a number of workers in the administrative and technical affairs.

During the tour, Al-Ali was briefed on the modern production lines and advanced technologies adopted by the company in producing and preserving food security and providing products and goods in an integrated manner, in addition to reviewing the company’s storage capacity and its readiness to meet the needs of the local market. He also reviewed contingency plans and monitoring the stability of prices and the flow of goods in light of regional conditions.

Moreover, The Governor also pointed out the need to achieve a balance between strengthening the food security system and the continuity of commercial expansion while maintaining the quality of products and gaining the confidence of customers to ensure the stability of food security in a sustainable manner.

Summing up his tour, The Governor, Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali praised the pioneering march of the Kuwaiti Flour Mills and Bakeries Company and the efforts exerted by the company and its leaders and employees in taking measures to maintain the safety and security of the strategic stock of basic commodities in the country.
