Central Bank of Kuwait powers up with 8% renewable energy

The Central Bank of Kuwait has started using solar energy to power its operations, as part of its efforts to promote sustainability

The Central Bank of Kuwait launched its solar energy system on March 30, cutting carbon emissions by 59.94 tons—equivalent to planting 5,682 trees—by September 30.

The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) announced on Wednesday that it has started using solar energy to power its operations, as part of its efforts to promote sustainability, Al Jarida newspaper reported.

The Central Bank of Kuwait announced via its Xplatform that it began operating its solar energy system on March 30, reducing carbon emissions by 59.94 tons and equating to the planting of 5,682 trees by September 30.

The Central Bank added that eight percent of its monthly energy consumption is now covered by renewable sources.
