Mubarakiya reconstruction project set for completion in 13 months

Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, the Minister of Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs, inspected the project to assess its latest developments.

  • The Al-Mubarakiya Market reconstruction project includes several archaeological and historical buildings that will be transformed into a museum showcasing the urban history of the area, making it a destination for tourists and visitors.

On Monday, Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, the Minister of Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs, conducted an inspection tour of the Al-Mubarakiya Market reconstruction project. She was accompanied by Sheikha Mathal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Head of the Voluntary Work Center, to review the project’s latest developments, according to Al Qabas newspaper.

Minister Al-Mashaan said in a press statement that the inspection visit to the Al-Mubarakiya reconstruction project was intended to assess its latest developments. The project began with excavation work for the infrastructure in coordination with the relevant authorities, led by the Kuwait Municipality, which issued demolition and construction permits. She added that the project is expected to be completed within 13 months.

For his part, Engineer Hassan Al-Kandari, the head of the damaged buildings reconstruction team, confirmed in a similar statement that the project is in its early stages. This phase involves implementing the project after overcoming previous obstacles, in cooperation with the relevant state authorities.

Al-Kandari added that the project includes several archaeological and historical buildings that will be transformed into a museum showcasing the urban history of the Mubarakiya area, making it a destination for tourists and visitors.
