Kuwait’s summer season to reach its midpoint on July 16

This year's summer season will coincide with the onset of the second Gemini season, lasting for 13 days.

  • The second Gemini season is the fourth in the summer zodiac for Arabs and the fifth in the calendar of solar and lunar zodiacs, with its star known as ‘Al-Hanaa.’

  • During the second Gemini season, daylight hours extend to more than thirteen hours and fifty minutes, while night hours extend to approximately ten hours and ten minutes.

The Al-Ajari Scientific Center reported that this year’s summer season will conclude midway on Tuesday, July 16, coinciding with the onset of the second Gemini season, lasting for 13 days, as per Al Anba newspaper.

The center added in a statement to KUNA that the second Gemini season is the fourth in the summer zodiac for Arabs and the fifth in the calendar of solar and lunar zodiacs, with its star known as ‘Al-Hanaa’.

The statement explained that during the second Gemini season, daylight hours extend to more than thirteen hours and fifty minutes, while night hours extend to approximately ten hours and ten minutes.

The statement indicated that the sun’s temperature rises during the second Gemini, which includes a period known as ‘Bahoura Al-Summer’ lasting about eight nights. It also marks the entry of the Al-Bawarih winds, sometimes referred to as the poisons.

The statement noted that the star of the second Gemini is considered one of the bright stars in the Betelgeuse constellation, known to Arabs since ancient times and visible to the naked eye.
