High school exams witness 265 cheating incidents, 11,208 absences

The Ministry of Education will resume examinations today, with students from the scientific section taking the chemistry test and students from the literary section taking the geography test.

  • The Ministry of Education recorded 134 cases of deprivation in five tests for the literary section, with 33 cases in the French language, 28 in the Arabic language, 30 in history, 27 in philosophy, and 16 in the English language.

According to Al Rai newspaper, after five days of end-of-year exams for high school seniors (twelfth grade) in both the scientific and literary sections, exam committees recorded 265 instances of cheating with official reports filed, and 11,208 cases of student absences. This count excludes the Islamic education test, which was withdrawn and postponed.

The Ministry of Education will resume exams today, with students from the scientific section taking the chemistry test and students from the literary section taking the geography test.

The marking committees have completed their work on the previous tests, the most recent being the correction of the English language exam for both sections.

The remaining tests will be followed up until the horizontal and vertical review is completed and the final grades are recorded.

As we entered the third and final week of exams, the Ministry of Education statistics recorded 11,208 cases of absence in both sections, with 5,076 male and female students in the scientific section and 6,132 male and female students in the literary section, which are typical cases in high school exams.

There were also 260 cases of deprivation recorded in the two sections: 126 cases in the scientific section, distributed over five tests, with 57 cases in mathematics, 18 in the Arabic language, 31 in physics, 14 in biology, and six in the English language.

Additionally, 134 cases of deprivation were recorded in five tests for the literary section, with 33 cases in the French language, 28 in the Arabic language, 30 in history, 27 in philosophy, and 16 in the English language. The current tests witnessed a significant decrease in cheating reports and cases of deprivation compared to previous academic years.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Education has confirmed that all its schools, at all educational levels and kindergartens, must stop manual receipt and activate automatic receipt of correspondence, based on the directives of the Information Systems Department regarding electronic correspondence.

The ministry stated in a general bulletin for all educational levels that no manual mail directed by schools to educational zones, including all their departments, controls, and divisions, will be received.
