Ministry of Commerce and Industry seizes store selling counterfeit Zamzam water
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced the seizure of a store that was importing and selling counterfeit Zamzam water in the Hawalli area.
The store was selling the water in 200 ml plastic bottles packed in 923 cartons, that were labeled with a sticker “Zamzam Water.” A total of 23,300 bottles were seized.
According to sources at Al-Qabas newspaper, the Ministry said that the seizure was carried out in accordance with Ministerial Decision No. 216/2014.
This decision prohibits the import of Zamzam water for commercial purposes and prevents its display and sale in markets.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry further stated that it will continue its inspection campaigns and market monitoring. They will take deterrent legal measures against violators and will not tolerate any attempts at fraud.
