Kuwait braces for weather rollercoaster till Thursday

• The stretching of a shallow depression carrying a humid and warm air mass results in an increase of low and medium clouds, mixed with cumulonimbus clouds, causing generally light to moderate rain intensity.

Abdulaziz Al-Qarawi, the Director of the Meteorology Department at Civil Aviation, conveyed to Al-Anbaa newspaper in a statement that according to weather maps and numerical models, the nation is experiencing a period of instability characterized by rapid weather changes, expected to persist until Thursday morning.

Al-Qarawi attributed this to the extension of a superficial depression that brings with it a humid and hot air mass. Low and medium clouds multiply, interspersed with cumulonimbus clouds, leading to light to moderate intensity rain in general.

He added that these rains are sometimes thundery and heavy in some areas on Wednesday, with active winds that may exceed 60 kilometer per hour. This can cause dust, reduce horizontal visibility to less than 1,000 meters in some areas, especially exposed areas, and lead to rising sea waves.

He added that it is expected for dust to gradually settle during periods of calm winds at night, and the chances of rain are anticipated to decrease, leading to a gradual improvement in weather starting next Thursday morning.
