Future Eye Theatre takes centre stage on World Theatre Day
Future Eye Theatre, one of Kuwait’s foremost theater organizations, commemorated World Theater Day at the Mangaf Kalasadan Auditorium on March 27, 2024.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Peter Mullay, a theater artist and deputy vice principal of Fahaheel English School .
Mr. Unni Kaimal, the General Secretary of Future Eye Theater, extended a warm welcome to the attendees while Mr. Santhosh Kuttat delivered the presidential address. Patron Shri Shemej Kumar presented this year’s World Theater Day message authored by Nobel laureate and Norwegian dramatist John Fosse. He further elucidated on Future Eye Theater’s activities since its inception in 2009.
As part of the program, Mr. Peter Mullay, a distinguished drama teacher and theater practitioner, shared insightful experiences from his theatrical journey and extended his best wishes to Future Eye Theater for its future endeavors.
The evening also featured Mr. Bivin Thomas presented an abridged version of the renowned Malayalam dramatist Mr. NN Pillai’s play ‘Kutumbayogam’. Additionally, Mrs. Drishya Prasad provided a captivating overview of how ordinary individuals can appreciate Kathakali, a unique art form from Kerala, and performed a segment of Nalacharitam. The program continued with a video montage showcasing snippets of plays performed by Future Eye Theater since 2009.
Vatiyur Kaw Krishna Kumar, Prem Raj, Pramod Menon, Jinu Vaikat, Chinnu Kora, Shibu Philip, Sajeesh Kumar Govind Shanta, and Vasu Mampat conveyed their felicitations during the event. Mrs. Jijuna Menon served as the host, and Dr. Pramod Menon delivered the vote of thanks.
