Ministry seeks budget approval for solar energy projects across 10 sites

The sources in the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy stated that the project aims to provide renewable energy to its sites across regions, replacing traditional fossil fuel-based energy, which contributes to budget savings and environmental preservation.

The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy has requested approval from the Ministry of Finance for a budget to supply and install a photovoltaic system across 10 sites. The aim is to produce 34.6 megawatts of energy.

Sources within the ministry stated that this project is part of the small-scale renewable energy projects the ministry aims to implement. It aims to provide renewable energy to its sites across various regions, replacing traditional energy derived from fossil fuels. This initiative contributes to budget savings and environmental preservation.

The sources explained that if the budget is approved for the project, it will be presented through the Central Agency for Public Tenders to the specialized companies classified by the agency. These companies will submit their bids and have them studied, after which the agency will make the award decision and initiate implementation.

On the other hand, the sources mentioned a total expenditure of 14.289 million dinars for two water projects in the residential city of Wafra. This includes 3.714 million dinars for a project to install a main water line with an 800 mm diameter from the Wafra reservoirs to the residential city, as well as a project to install a water line with a 1200 mm diameter from the Al-Zour water complex to the Wafra reservoirs, totaling 10.575 million dinars.

The sources explained that the ministry has delivered electricity to all secondary transfer stations and fresh water to the city. They noted that the electrical and water network work in the city was carried out by the General Corporation for Housing Welfare.
