Government employees’ education certificates verification underway

There will be no tolerance for those proven to have tampered or forged documents, and individuals caught tampering will be referred to the Public Prosecution in accordance with the law.

In light of the Council of Ministers’ directives, the process of verifying the educational certificates of government employees has commenced.

Informed sources informed Al-Qabas that government agencies that have not yet addressed their employees regarding this matter will begin doing so this week, emphasizing the importance of uploading their educational certificates to automated systems.

The sources revealed higher directives to avoid complacency and to carefully examine the certificates issued to Kuwaiti cultural offices abroad, ensuring cooperation in the certificate examination process and communication with universities to verify their authenticity.

It is expected that the highest percentage of certificates issued from abroad will be from Egypt. The cultural offices in Cairo and Alexandria are under significant pressure regarding this matter.

The sources explained that a large number of workers in government agencies obtained degrees from Egyptian universities, either through university scholarships or by studying at private universities.

The sources said that considering the Council of Ministers’ directives to verify certificates dating back to the year 2000 and taking into account the duration of this period, government agencies will provide ample notice to their employees to submit their academic certificates. This is particularly important as some employees may need to obtain new certificates from the educational institutions where they studied.

The sources indicated that local higher education institutions have already received requests from employees to obtain new copies of their academic certificates. They also mentioned that certificates issued from abroad may require some time to obtain new copies.

At a time when some employees fear that their certificates issued by universities with revoked recognition may not be accredited, the sources reassured that the application of university accreditation decisions does not apply retroactively.

This means that if the university was accredited at the time of the employee’s enrollment, their certificate will remain accredited even if the university is later removed from the lists of local accreditation.

The sources pointed out that the higher directives have been issued regarding the necessity of concerted efforts to complete the certificate examination process with precision. There will be no tolerance for those proven to have tampered or forged documents, and individuals caught tampering will be referred to the Public Prosecution in accordance with the law.
