Visit Qatar hosts variety of festivities during Ramadan

Visit Qatar continues to attract visitors from the GCC and beyond as it recently introduced several events, festivals, offers, and packages for Ramadan that provide plenty of opportunity for families and individuals to partake in celebrating the holy month.

Commenting on the Ramadan festivities, Chief Marketing and Operations Officer at Qatar Tourism, Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al-Mawlawi, said: “The amalgamation of multicultural festivals, activities and hospitality packages this year attests to the eclectic events residents and visitors can attend during Ramadan. The collaborations between the government and private sectors in the country depict the diverse and growing touristic sphere, with an emphasis on Qatari culture and heritage .”

Visit Qatar has collaborated with several government and private entities to organise and facilitate the best offers and packages curated for the entire family.

Among the festivities lined up this year are:

‘Throwback Food Festival’ at the Old Mina Port, from 10 March until 10 April, during which visitors can explore up to 15 renowned restaurants with international cuisines, primarily from the Middle East and South Asia. The Throwback Food Festival will run daily from Iftar to Suhoor.

Torba Market: Slice of Support: Held on every Saturday of Ramadan from 8pm to 1am at Education City in Doha, the bazaar features artisanal products and other F&B options for a charitable cause with donations and proceedings going to Palestine. Torba Market is hosting this bazaar in collaboration with the Qatar Foundation Alumni Office, VCU Qatar, and Education Above All.

Pearl Ramadan Bazaar: Located at the prestigious Pearl Island, the Pearl Ramadan Bazaar features 28 stalls with traditional products to shop for, such as Arabic sweets, abayas, incense, accessories, and other handcrafts. It also features activities for children and families, such as arts and crafts, traditional weaving, henna, face paint, and other workshops. The bazaar is held till April 13 at 2 to 6 La Croisette, Porto Arabia and will run from 8.30pm to 1am Saturday to Wednesday, and from 8.30pm to 2am on Thursdays and Fridays.

Ramadan Fair: Held at Souq Al Wakra Hotel, the Ramadan Fair is an event organised by Visit Qatar and Heenat Salma Farm. Packed with several activities, the Ramadan Fair promises to be a memorable attraction with free craft workshops, lectures, movie screenings, and children’s activities. With a range of artisanal foods, the Ramadan Fair has culinary delights catering to a wide range of palettes.

In collaboration with the Qatari Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, and Al Baraka Association, the fair will also host two lectures and conferences each week. The free lectures and conferences will be centred around spiritual significance, traditions, and practices of Ramadan. These will be bilingual in both English and Arabic, for one hour each. The Ramadan Fair will be held till April 8, from 7pm to 1am daily, with free entry.

Exclusive Ramadan offers: Several hotels and restaurants are offering over 300 exclusive packages for families, couples, and individuals during Ramadan, including Iftar, Suhoor, or Staycation packages, and some hotels offering combination deals with Iftar, Suhoor, and Staycation.
