Al-Ghafr season begins Nov 11, bringing cooler nights, moderate daytime weather

Kuwait is set to enter a cooler phase of the autumn season on November 11, as the third phase of the Wasim season, known as Al-Ghafr, begins and continues for 13 days, marking the start of the season’s second half.
The Al-Ujairi Scientific Center said Al-Ghafr, the seventh phase of autumn, is traditionally associated with a gradual drop in temperatures, increasing nighttime chill and moderate weather during the day.
Winds are also expected to become more noticeable, while sea conditions may turn turbulent and seawater temperatures decline during the morning hours. The center noted that nights will continue to grow longer as daylight hours decrease, with nighttime exceeding 13 hours. The period also marks the earliest annual timing of the Asr prayer call.
According to the agricultural calendar, Al-Ghafr is considered suitable for planting various winter grains, as well as fertilizing palm trees and turning over the surrounding soil.
The period is also regarded as the beginning of more noticeable winter weather patterns, with cooler nights contrasting with relatively moderate daytime conditions.
