9 injured in two separate fires at Al-Qurain Markets restaurant; Farwaniya apartment

Nine people were injured today morning in two different fires — one at a restaurant in the Al-Qurain Markets area and another in an apartment building in Farwaniya.

The first fire broke out in a restaurant and nearby shops on the first floor of Al-Qurain Markets.

Firefighters from Al-Bairaq and Al-Qurain Central Fire Department responded to a distress call promptly and managed to contain the flames and prevent further damage, reports Al-Rai daily.
Five people who sustained minor injuries were treated at the site.

Shortly after, teams from the Farwaniya and Subhan fire stations were dispatched to a residential building in Farwaniya, where another partially damaged an apartment. The fire was quickly brought under control, though four people were injured during the incident.

Authorities are continuing investigations into the causes of both fires.
